Get Your Groove On!

Friday April 4, 2014, the parents of the 2018 class are hosting a junior high dance at the Kingman Elementary/Middle School cafeteria. All the profits will go into the class of 2018’s fund. There is a $5 admission fee and food and refreshments will be sold. The 2018 class fund already has $150 to go towards the after promotion party. The dance will be from 7 to 9 pm; all school rules still apply. Also, there will be a professional DJ, Phil Ray. Please inform and bring all your friends to the dance!

Summer Plans

It’s the beginning of the last quarter, and summer is coming soon! Many people like to relax and do nothing during the summer, but some people play sports. We asked eighteen people what their plans were sports wise for this summer. Ten people will be playing sports, while the other eight will be relaxing during their vacation. Some people will be playing sports like softball, baseball, and swim team. A few students will be playing basketball or volleyball at a club or on a special team. We asked a few people that aren’t playing sports what their plans were for the summer. Some people said they were going on vacation with their families. Others said they were going to swim at the pool and hang out with friends. No matter what your plans are for the summer, be sure to have fun and stay safe!

Book of the Month

This month book of the month is The Mortal Instruments City of Ashes. This book is the second book of the Mortal Instruments series. This series has a total of five books. The sequel to the series is the Infernal Devices. The Infernal Devices has a total of three books in its series. Clary Fray wishes that her life would go back to normal. To her normal is not being a demon-slaying Shadowhunter. With her mom in a magical coma, all of a sudden she can see Downwoelders. The Downworlders creatures that she is able to see are like werewolves, vampires, and faeries.  Also Clary would like to see and hangout with her best friend, Simon, but she can’t when the Shadowhunters won’t let her go. Also, her attractive, but yet infuriating brother, Jace, won’t let her go.

Blog Project

Mrs. Huleskamp’s eighth grade class is working on a new project this quarter. They are making blogs.  Students are divided into groups of three or four students.  Each group is going to be blogging about things, dealing with language arts, of course. The students get to choose the layout and the name. The blog will have students discussing topics and questions. This assignment will last until the end of the year.

Would you rather...?

Would you rather have your jaw wired shut for one month or eat a whole pizza in front of a starving child?

Ms. Sterniger said she could never eat in front of a starving child.  Mr. Munz also said he could never do that to a starving child.

Would you rather live in a world with no problems or live in a world where you rule?

Ms. Sterniger and Mr.Munz said they would want to live in a world with no problems.

Would you rather hit every red light or always be wrong?

Ms. Sterniger said she would rather hit every red light because she is never wrong. Mr.Munz said he would rather hit every red light also because he does not like being wrong.

Would you rather be able to stop time or fly?

Ms. Sterniger said that she would love to fly. Mr. Munz would like to stop time.

Would you rather have a missing finger or have an extra toe?

Ms. Sterniger said she would rather have a missing finger. On the other hand Mr.Munz would rather have an extra toe.
