Just because we have to read to get
AR points doesn’t mean we have to get a certain type of book. For most people,
when you mention book types they only think of fiction and nonfiction. While
those are the main groups, there are a lot more subgroups within them that can
be completely different. An example of this is science fiction (Star Wars) and
fantasy (Harry Potter). Both are fiction, but they take place in completely
different settings and have different creatures.
Out of all
the books checked out from libraries around the country, the favorite takes about
33% and are Science Fiction books. The second most popular book type is Fantasy
with about 31%. The third favorite, Action and Adventure takes about 13% of the
total amount. The fourth favorite type is Mystery with 11%. The next is Romance
with 8%. Horror and Western books are tied with 2% each.
