Mrs. Webster, one of our three kindergarten teachers at Kingman Elementary, has been part of the staff for one year. She graduated from Pratt Community College with an Associate’s degree. Then she went off to Newman University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Mrs. Webster has had previous teaching jobs in Haven for one year and Pretty Prairie for five years. She says a Bachelor’s Degree is needed to be a teacher. Mrs. Webster says her inspiration to be a teacher is that she loves to work with kids and was previously a para before she started working at Kingman. She chose to work at Kingman over any of the other schools in the area because she loves small communities and the staff members here are great. She has taught third grade for five years in the past. Mrs. Webster does not consider herself a risk taker. If she had to tell her goals to the principal, Mr. Garrison, for next year, Mrs. Webster said that one of her goals would be to become more organized. Her technique to encourage students to learn is positive discipline.
Mrs. Osner has taught at
Kingman for six years. She attended college at Kansas State University for four
years and graduated in 1987. She has taught at Manhattan, Hutchinson, and St.
Patrick’s schools, as well as Kingman. Mrs. Osner wanted to become a teacher
because of her love for children. She would choose Kingman over other schools
around here because it’s where she lives. She has taught 6th grade
for around ten years. Mrs. Osner does consider herself a risk taker. She said
that her goals for next year would be to learn more technology and to have more
iPads. She got her inspiration for teaching from her 1st grade
teacher and her technique to encourage students to learn from Dr. Jean.
