Success!!

What does the word successful mean to you? In twenty years I would like to be doing something successful with my life. Being successful in life is one of my goals. Some of the things I could be doing are volunteering, donating things that I don’t need, and lending an ear to hear what other people have to say. Being successful to me is not having a lot of money; successful to me is helping others when they need it.
All I need to be successful in my life is time to be there for others, not only in my community but all over. I want to help people by traveling and giving to charity. However, I want to be successful at any job I’m at, so I have some money. Having money and a job can help me be successful in the life I want to live. Helping others makes me feel successful in my heart, because I know that is what I want to do.

What are you afraid of…?

Everybody is afraid of something! What are you afraid of?  The thing people are scared of range from Barney to getting stuck upside down on a roller coaster.  Brant Harnden is scared of clowns and Mrs. Milford is scared of teaching 6th graders.  Mattie Kinsler is scared of Abby Fairchild and Abby Fairchild is scared of a roller coaster getting stuck upside down.  Abby Wells is scared of scary people. Gage Pickering, William Milford, Jaden Capps, and Clay Boor are scared of spiders.  Geoff, the Librarian, is scared of not living a fulfilled life, not completing his bucket list and fire. The first grade teacher, Mr. Spexarth, is very scared of Gage Pickering’s muscles.

Oh, The Places You'll Go!!

 If You Could Go Anywhere…

The world is a big place, and that means there are many places to visit. Here are some of the places that people in our school want to visit. Pre-School students, Jayda DeWeese and Victor Perez-Arango want to go to Grandma’s house. Another Pre-School student, Joey Brannan, wants to go to Canada. Kindergartener Abigail Clover wants to go to San Francisco, while Sean Kostner, Kindergartener, wants to go home at the end of the day. Mrs. Dixon, KES/KMS Music teacher, wants to go to Japan.  Eighth Grader, Danica Kostner, wants to go to a resort. Abby Fairchild wants to go to China. Brooke Raymond wants to go to England and Kate Reid wants to go to Narnia. Where do you want to go?

I Heart My Valentine!

This week love is in the air! Friday, February 14, is Valentine’s Day.  Out of the thirty-three people that were surveyed, only nine of them are planning on sending a valentine to someone! We asked the twenty-four students that weren’t planning on spreading the love why they didn’t send out a card. A few of the younger kids said that they didn’t want to send anyone a valentine. Clay Boor said that he would give one to Kyle Livingston as a joke. Many of the middle school students paid a dollar to send their crush or friend a sucker. The leadership team has been selling suckers all week, and so far it’s been a success! This Valentine’s Day is sure to be sweet!

FBLA Annual March of Dimes Collection Competition

 Grade School Info

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), a Kingman High School chapter, is sponsoring our annual March of Dimes fundraiser.  March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies and focuses on the prematurity rate of babies in the U.S. today.

Again this year we a setting up a competition among the classes to see who can raise the most money.  There will be a contribution jar in each of your classrooms beginning Monday, Feb. 3, and ending Friday, Feb. 28.  The class section (Example 7-1) that collects the most money from each grade will get candy bars.

The school will also be divided into the following groups: Group 1 - Kindergarten through Second Grade, Group 2 - Third Grade through Fifth Grade, and Group 3 – Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade.  When the money is counted on Feb. 28, the group with the most collected will be awarded a pizza party.

If you have any questions, contact FBLA President Zach Andersen or FBLA Adviser Mrs. Cindy Austin.

Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
