Sleep Facts





            How much do you know about sleep? Here are 10 facts that might surprise you. 1. The average person spends one third of their life asleep (about 25 years). 2. Counting sheep isn’t the best way to fall asleep the best way is to imagining a calming landscape works better. 3. You can only dream about faces you have already seen. 4. While many people talk in their sleep, deaf people use sign language in their sleep. 5. Sleeping less than 6 hours or more than 10 hours can cause a shorter lifespan. 6. Sleeping after learning something will help you remember what you learned. 7. In the UK about 25% teens admitted to falling asleep in class at least once a week. 8. Some people have the genetic mutation hDEC2 which makes it so that they only need four hours of sleep to feel like a normal person with eight hours of sleep. 9. Humans are one of the few species that doesn’t keep half the brain awake during sleep. 10. The extra hour of sleep we get from the time set back is linked to a fall of road accidents.
