Origin of April Fools' Day

Do you know how April Fools' day started?  April Fools' day is the most lighthearted day of the year and it is the turn of the seasons.  April Fools' day started around 1582 in France, when the Gregorian calendar was introduced, and New Year’s Day changed from April 1 to January 1.  April Fools' day is when people tease and pull pranks on other people.  We asked a few people to describe their best prank ever.  Mr. Spexarth once told his mom the barn was on fire.  Mr. Munz told the baseball team to line up for a picture in behind the stands and then coach dumped water on them.  Now you know how April Fools' day started.
