PI Day

Do you know what Pi Day is? Pi Day is an annual celebration for the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14. Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. Kingman Elementary/Middle School has celebrated Pi Week at our school for eight years. Students get to participate in a memorization competition. Whoever remembers the most digits of pi gets to throw a pie at one of the math teachers. During Pi Week the students dress up for the fun occasion.

Monday is similar day, so you dress like someone else.

Tuesday is shape day, so you wear geometric shapes.

Wednesday is perpendicular day, so wear plaid.

Thursday is parallel day, so wear stripes.

Friday is number day, so wear clothing with numbers.

SO, be sure to participate!!!
