Archery is a very intense sport. Archery can be very expensive and dangerous. There are different kinds of bows. They consist of re-curve, long bow, and compound bows. The most common bow for hunting and sports is the compound bow. The re-curve and long bow are a lot more complex and more pro-style bows. A lot of people that use the long bow and re-curve are usually using them for precision accuracy at long ranges. There are many different brands and prices for each bow. Many different kinds of materials are used for bows. There are different kinds of composites, wood, carbon fiber, graphites, and even metal for some parts. And that is why bows are so complex and unique in their own ways.
Kingman Middle School has started an archery program which is quite
exciting! Luckily, archery starts this week, then around Spring Break students are off to get
a chance to go to nationals. At the
tournament, students will shoot from 10 meters for 15 shots then they move to 15 meters. Students can choose whether to compete
in an individual level or as a team. The type of bows that they use are the
Mathew Genesis bows. Mr. Wilmott thinks
that he will have at least 30 middle school students going to the tournament this
year.
